Warm greetings to All….yes and I mean hot!! The Denver weather has been very warm; not the best weather for construction of tiny homes but it is still a blast. Some of you may have noticed that we have not had a newsletter since Spring. We are going to a quarterly format. If you read the last newsletter you know I was falling in love again with living mobile tiny so I am once again living in my truck camper and spending lots of time in the mountains around Denver. And it is lovely.
Spring is here and it is time for new things, hope and potentialities. Gardens are going in, buds are bursting open and the smell of flowers is everywhere. We know this is a very busy time for most folks so this newsletter will be short and briefly talk about the projects we have going on right now: the high school build, a wheelchair accessible home, and moving our model home to a resort for rental.
Hello Dear Tiny Home Folks,
We hope this newsletter finds you well and onto your dreams of living smaller. Is it almost the end of March already?? This still qualifies as the “March” newsletter, though! This month is about a particular type of tiny home on wheels: mobile tiny homes that are moved often. Since the number one obstacle for many to living in your tiny home is where to put it, we would like to offer an alternative idea to consider. Mobile Living!
Hello Dear Tiny Home Enthusiasts,
Here at Om Ah Homes we get many inquiries about a wide range of tiny homes in all sizes and budgets. While Tiny homes on wheels (THOWs) is just one type of living smaller, there are many other styles of homes that tiny home enthusiasts should consider when downsizing. We build THOWs, for example our Nun’s model pictured here, but we want to look at the other styles in this newsletter.
Happy New Year!
Ah… January, what a great time to think about downsizing and decluttering your life. Whether you plan to move into a tiny home or a smaller space this year or in 5 years it is always a good time to get rid of the crap in your life. You know what I’m talking about, all that stuff you really don’t need. I know this is hard… you think, maybe, just maybe I will need this or someone I know will in the next 10 years right? So you hold on to it. I have been there and return there every few years.
We here at Om Ah Homes want to wish you a very happy holiday season. In this month’s newsletter we will cover some of the places you can visit to rent a tiny home for a weekend or a couple of weeks or longer. These are great spots for a vacation any time of the year. Besides vacations, these rentals allow you to check out how living tiny will work for you.
Hello all Tiny Home Enthusiasts!
In this month’s newsletter I want to share a video that was recorded and edited by Tiny Nest blog folks, Kiva and Jake (check out their site). But first I want to share some exciting news about the new tiny home building codes that have been proposed to be included in the 2018 IRC, International Building Codes.
Well, it is already well into October. In many areas this means cooler weather, cleaning out the garden and getting ready for winter. This is a great time to study, plan, and connect with builders on your dream tiny home. Of course there is still time to finish or even start your build. We here at Om Ah Homes can easily build throughout the year. But there is something fun about long winter nights planning out tiny homes for the spring building. There are so many sites to get great ideas, from tiny home sales listing to pinterest (and of course our design ideas on our web site). Customizing your tiny home is essential to creating a home you can be happy in for many years.
Hello! Hi to all tiny home enthusiasts. Wow… getting into Fall weather now. I hope for all of you that garden your bounty is replacing any grocery bill! As promised, this newsletter is going to have tons of information about where tiny homes are more accepted and allowed per zoning. I will include many links I found helpful.
First of all, I want to discuss living in tiny spaces… it is not new. Folks in the US and around the world have been living tiny forever. We are not inventing the wheel. In fact, just recently while driving around the Denver area I found this tiny tucked away in a backyard.
It has been a very busy first half of August! Of course the Tiny House Jamboree in Colorado Springs over the weekend of the 5th-7th was awesome. There were over 40 tiny homes displayed and many, many thousands of folks attending. We saw old friends, met many new folks and their new tinys, and talked tiny home building for 3 days non-stop….really fun! I hope many of you were able to attend but if not I did post some go-lives and pictures on our facebook site Om Ah Homes.
